What is more iconic for a first birthday than the first taste of cake (or cupcake in this example)? This is from my daughter's first birthday party.

Is she not the cutest little dark strawberry haired girl? This was a quick session I did of this little beauty for her birthday invites for her 1st birthday. Her mom wanted to capture a few quick photos so she could make a custom birthday invite to send out for her very special birthday!

She was such a little ham for our mini session and I got some great shots of her!

I love living so close to the ocean/beach. It makes for an amazing place to take photos! I decided to take my family out to Folly Beach to try out the lighting and take a few practice shots. I just think the beach is such a beautiful backdrop for family photos. It gives you so many ways to get great perspectives and not to mention it is such a fun place for kids, and happy playing kids equals wonderful memories and great photos! Enjoy!

These are some of the photos of children I have taken. Most have been indoors at birthday parties, although I do prefer the light and scenery of the outdoors to shoot in general.

My family

This is my adorable little family. I decided we needed a family shoot to commemorate my daughter's soon to be 1st birthday. I sent up the shoot and had my sister actually shoot the photos. I did all the post processing on the images. This is just a small idea of the kind of family photo shoot I can do for your own family! Enjoy!

About me

Hi, I am Selena the photographer. I was born in NC but have called SC my home for almost as long as I can remember. I moved to Charleston, SC when I was in college (Go Cougars!) and fell in love with it, how could you not?

My love of photography started at an early age. I have always loved capturing life as it happens and could be found carrying around a camera, snapping shots of my family and friends.

After I graduated, got married and decided to start a family my love for photography really took off. I knew I wanted to be able to capture beautiful memories of my daughter and I dove head first into learning all I could about how to do that.

I love being able to capture moments that can be looked back on for a lifetime, or longer.

My passion is natural light lifestyle photography. I prefer to capture a person's true personality in photos and therefore there is not a lot of posing in a session with me. I will give you directions and occasionally snap some posed shots but I believe truly amazing photos are ones that capture you and your family as you are in every day life.

I strive for a relaxed, fun and natural session where wonderful memories and made and captured.
I am available for newborn, family, children, senior, engagement, and couple sessions.
I am also available for hire to take photos at family reunions, birthday parties, or any function so you can enjoy yourself and also still capture those precious memories.

Investment

Custom photography is an investment in a lifetime of memories.

A session includes one hour of shoot time at an outdoor location of your choosing in the Charleston area (I have plenty of suggestions if you need them), using available natural light, my talents in the post processing of the images. The session fee is $150.

Newborn sessions are conducted in either your house or in my home studio. These sessions usually last 2-3 hours and the session fee is $200.

I offer professional a la carte prints and/or a CD of your processed images for an additional fee (generally around $50) depending on the the type of shoot, some event sessions are slightly more for the CD since there are more photos to edit.

 This is a great deal for custom photography. Keep in mind that your investment is for much more than just the hour session, there is so much (consultation, travel time, the session itself, file handling, post processing which is the most time consuming part, preparing the cd, running to the post office) that goes into giving you photos you will cherish forever.

I specialize in family, children, infant and couple (engagement) sessions. I offer senior and event photography and am also starting to offer some wedding packages, only for outdoor weddings. If a wedding package is something you are interested in please contact me for more information.
